Charlestown Man Charged with Breaking Fiancée's Laptop

A Charlestown man was arrested Monday after he allegedly destroyed his fiancée's laptop while drunk following an argument at a Colby Road residence in Roslindale.
On May 27 at around 1:46 a.m., Paul Daniels of 443 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown, was arrested and charged with willful and malicious destruction of property, according to a Boston Police report.
Police spoke with the suspect who allegedly told police he and his fiancée got into an argument that started while they were at a bar downtown and continued as they traveled to Charlestown, and then to her home in Roslindale.

Daniels told police no domestic violence had taken place but that he had smashed her Apple laptop, which officers observed was broken into two pieces, with the keyboard severely bent. The suspect also allegedly told police he had punched and shattered a glass dresser out of anger, which caused small lacerations on his hand for which he refused medical attention.
Officers spoke with the fiancée, who reportedly confirmed the suspect's story. She said no physical violence had taken place, but her laptop was worth $1,200.
