Community to Gather for Candlelight Vigil

The 3rd Annual Charlestown Candlelight Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Hayes Square.

This Saturday night will mark the third year community members will gather in Hayes Square for a vigil to remember loved ones and neighbors who have lost battle with drugs and alcohol.

The vigil starts at 6:30 p.m. by the police station.

The event is sponsored by Charlestown Against Drugs (CHAD). This year's vigil will include a tribute to Peter Looney, who died in August, but helped found CHAD and establish the vigil tradition. Organizer Shannon Lundin said this year will also include a surprise.
