Did You Survive the Hottest Day in 85 Years?
Plus, a tall ship was in the Navy Yard this weekend. Check out our photos.

Today is Monday, July 25. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. Hopefully most of you made it out of the heatwave healthy and hydrated. It was epic. Friday was, according to the National Weather Service, the second highest temperature on record for Boston at 103 degrees. That's the hottest day in 85 years. Kind of amazing.
2. More facts: State officials are currently exploring an expanded Bottle Bill, which could add to the variety and number of containers in Massachusetts that could be sold with a deposit. What's one plus in this scenario? The state employs 14,000 people in the recycling industry. Adding more deposits would provide work for more people and small businesses, including the 140 redemption centers across the state.
3. There was a tall ship docked in the Navy Yard this weekend offering free tours to visitors. If you didn't make it to "The Eagle," that's OK. We did. .
4. And starting today you'll see a number of stories throughout the week on Patch under the heading "Passport." This is a series running on Patch sites across the state (and the country, actually) and it highlights some local treasures in each community we cover. Most of you will be familiar with everyone in Charlestown's Passport, but check out the series in nearby towns. You can get a quick link to the list here.
5. No heat wave today. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 am. High around 77. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.
