Dine Out and Donate to the Charlestown Mothers Association Tonight
Fifteen percent of proceeds from dinner at the Ninety-Nine will support the local organization.

Today is Tuesday, March 15. (Beware, the Ides.) Here are five things you need to know today.
1. Tonight is a good a night as any to take a break from cooking. And if you dine out at the , there’s an added bonus: 15 percent of the proceeds will go to support the Charlestown Mothers Association, which does extraordinary work for the community. To participate, email Jennifer Rossi (jennifer.m.rossi@gmail.com). She’ll send you a Dining for a Cause Voucher – print it out and bring it with you to the restaurant between 5 and 8 p.m. tonight and a portion of your bill will go directly to the organization. For more info on the Charlestown Mothers Association and this event, visit www.charlestownmothersassociation.org.
2. The Boston School Committee is continuing a month of budget hearings tonight, to give the public a chance to hear about a new funding formula for city schools. Under the proposal, schools would be allocated funds in a “weighted student” formula, meant to ensure that all schools and students receive equal support. Tonight’s meeting is the Jeremiah Burke High School in Dorchester. There’s another meeting on March 22 at East Boston High from 6 to 8 p.m., which may be easier for local parents to attend. For more details on the budget proposal, check out www.bostonpublicschools.org/budget.

3. It’s a fact. Hollywood loves working class guys from Boston. I guess we can thank Ben Affleck and Matt Damon – two distinctly non-working class boys from Cambridge – for establishing the genre. Its legacy continues now, and on the small screen. On Wednesday, the Travel Channel will premiere Deathwish Movers, a weekly show that follows a real-life moving company that navigates the city’s narrow streets and historic buildings like a bunch of superheroes with Boston accents. It’s on at 10 p.m. tomorrow night, but you can watch a couple preview videos on the Travel Channel web site. I like the one where they ask the guys about their favorite pubs. Take a look. I have a really hard time picturing that man at Kitty O’Shea’s, but maybe I’m narrow-minded.
4. There’s a new business opening in the Bunker Hill Mall. The Hair Cuttery is filling the old Fantastic Sam’s spot. I got an email from a marketing company working for the business and they tell me that for the first six weeks the Hair Cuttery is in business, all haircuts are half price.
