Explore the Spirit World -- Tonight at the Library
Two local psychics will lead a free talk at the library on Monday night.

Today is Monday, May 16. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. If you’re even a little bit interested in tapping into the spirit world – or exploring your own ability to do so, you might want to make time for a free talk this evening at the Charlestown library. Local intuitive MaryLee Trettenero, along with Stoneham resident Mary D’Alba (also a psychic) will be leading the discussion, “.” The event starts at 7:30 p.m. According to their event listing, both experts will share “the pleasant and unpleasant realities of communicating with the spirit world.” And Trettenero will also share some ghost stories from different periods in the neighborhood’s history.
2. A congrats to the for wrapping their first season this weekend – and a successful one, at that. Sunday was the club’s last meeting before a summer hiatus. (Meetings will resume in September, though a date hasn’t been set yet.) In just a few months, the club brought more than 100 women who live and work in Charlestown together, organized several popular events… and coordinated a trip to Ireland. Not bad. Stay tuned for news on the club’s fall activities.
3. Although you wouldn’t know it from the weather, summer is, in fact, on the horizon. In anticipation, the city’s just released its 2011 Summer Guide – your resource for what to do with the kids and visiting friends and family. In tandem, the city’s also launched an @summerboston Twitter feed and Facebook page.

4. Yeah, so about this weather. We’re potentially dealing with 10 straight days of rain and gray skies. The forecast doesn’t just foster a lousy mood. It also has implications for the (local) economy. Abby Gray, our business columnist and owner of Olivia Browning, local business grapple with when nasty weather persists. If you’re a business owner, you may want to take a look for some ideas. And if you’re not, you may want to consider helping your local businesses, and yourself, with some shop therapy.
5. The forecast: Showers and a few thunderstorms likely. High near 60. Chance of rain 60 percent.
