Good Shepherd Preschool Fundraiser Set May 9
The annual event raises funds for scholarships and curriculum enhancements.
The Good Shepherd School, founded in 2009, is holding its fourth annual fundraising event—a silent auction which is open to the entire Charlestown and greater Boston communities.
The event, named “Spring is Sprouting”, helps the school provide scholarships to families as well as enhance the school’s facilities and curriculum.
“Good Shepherd’s mission includes serving the diverse range of families in our community as well as cultivating the intellectual and emotional well being of our children. Our annual fundraiser is essential to fulfilling our mission and keeping our program affordable for families. It helps us bridge the gap,” said Nicolette Clifford, GSS Director.

“We’re excited that this year’s event is taking place right in our community. In previous years, we’ve held it at various venues outside of Charlestown. In addition to the benefit of being able to walk to the event for Charlestown residents, the Parish Center allows us to keep costs low, while providing great food and fun for our guests,” said Nora Blake, longtime board member and co-chair of the event.
Good Shepherd families are excited about supporting their school as well.

“Our first daughter attended Good Shepherd and is now at Eliot School. We feel that the Good Shepherd program prepared her well for kindergarten. We like the program and the convenience it offers and are pleased that our second daughter will be continuing in September. We also recognize the important role this fundraising event has in helping our special school grow and flourish,” said Whitney Carlson, Charlestown resident, and mother of Ramsey and Clare.
The event will take place on the evening of May 9 at the St. Mary - St. Catherine of Siena Parish Center, which is located at 46 Winthrop St. in Charlestown. It will run from 6:30-10:30 p.m. and offers food, fun, cash bar and lots of exciting items for bidding.
Tickets cost $50 per person in advance, and $60 at the door.
