Condemned Marathon Bomber Seeks New Trial at Upcoming Hearing

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 22, was sentenced to death for his role in the 2013 attack.

A date has been set for a hearing on a motion for a new trail for convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The 22-year-old was sentenced to death back in June.

The hearing will be held on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. in Boston Federal Court, the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Massachusetts announced Friday.

Tsarnaev’s lawyers initially requested the trial be held outside of Boston in order to avoid a biased jury.
