About NEW Health:

50 years ago the health center doors opened and caring staff populated its corridors and exam rooms, eager to serve the community. From one floor of the old Baptist Bethel Church, to the entire building, a satellite location in New England’s largest housing development located in Charlestown, a North End Nursing Home, The Villa Michelangelo, and several important community partnerships. NEW Health has physically expanded over the years, but more importantly, it has expanded its ability to touch lives and make a difference.

With a patient centered model of care NEW Health offers a wide variety of services including Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, Dental, Vision, Podiatry, Radiology, Lab, Nutrition, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Going one step further NEW Health offers transportation to medical appointments, a Substance Use Disorder Program, a School Based Health Center, an in-house Pharmacy, and Health Education Services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center these services are made available to all patients regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

Expanding care outside the walls of the health center, NEW Health decided to start a Food Insecurity Program. Originally fully staff funded, everything changed when the pandemic began and the concern over food insecurity grew. NEW Health reached out to the community and in a year raised over $30,000 for its program.

Now, as NEW Health celebrates the years of service to the community, the relationships we’ve built, and the people that made it all possible we are seizing this as an opportunity to continue making a difference.
