Hubway to Offer Discounted Membership

Qualifying residents can get up to a $45 reduction in the annual membership fee.

Today is Thursday, Sept. 15. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Hubway, the city's bike-share program, has introduced a reduced membership fee for lower-income residents. The Boston Public Health Commission is subsidizing the annual fee – reducing it from $60 to $15 – for qualifying individuals. The subsidy includes a free helmet. No, Charlestown doesn't have a Hubway station (yet), but there are a couple just over the Charlestown Bridge. (Check out the station map.)


2. Energy healing. Want to learn more about it? Local healer MaryLee Trettenero will be at the Zelma Lacey House today at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

3. The tonight at a library event. Author Webster Bull will be on hand to chat about his new book about the hospital's 200 years. The event is free and open to the public.
