The cause of the Bunker Hill Street fire on Friday was a short circuit in the ceiling of the Monument Laundromat, according to the Boston Fire Department.
The three-story residence at 144 Bunker Hill St. was ablaze early Friday morning, adjacent building 28 Monument St.

Patch previously reported that 20 people were displaced, with no injuries. The Boston Fire Department battled the fire for over eight hours in single digit temperatures.

Monument Laundromat was bought by Max Liu two years ago.
