Library to Host 'Doll E Daze'

This free event tonight will get your kids constructing dolls and robots with a multicultural storytelling twist.

Today is Thursday, July 14. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. So about those food trucks... On Monday, officials announced that (including one in the Navy Yard) would start serving food the next day. On Tuesday (aka yesterday), less than half of them were actually on the road. They cited various delays when the Globe asked them why. What does this mean for the Navy Yard truck? It's unclear, but allegedly Go Fish! will be serving the neighborhood starting next week. Possibly just on the weekend. Stay tuned for more details. Interesting thing to note: Our original story on this news sparked quite a few comments, good and bad. and consider weighing in.

2. If I haven't already said it yet (and even if I have) Patch is very lucky to now call Kathy "Cookie" Giordano a columnist. can take you back in time and give you a real flavor for what Charlestown looked and felt like when Giordano was growing up. She's also got a knack for eloquent straight-talk, as demonstrated in this week's column about the teens who hang out on Main Street, and those who've been wrapped in recent trouble. Take a read.
