'Mayor of Charlestown' Nominations Due Today

Candidates in the 2013 race, which is part of the Bunker Hill Day and Charlestown Pride festivities, must be 18 years old and have lived in Charlestown for at least three years.

Applications for candidates in the 2013 Mayor of Charlestown race are due today.

Sponsored by the Townie Association, the contest is open to anyone 18 years or older who has lived in Charlestown for at least three years.

Each individual must collect 25 signatures and two letters of recommendation from Charlestown residents and submit them along with the application form (available as a PDF in the image gallery at right).

The contest is part of the upcoming Charlestown Pride Week and Bunker Hill Day festivities.

The winning "Mayor of Charlestown" will receive a trip for two to Ireland and will march in the 2013 Bunker Hill Day Parade on Sunday, June 16.
