Meet Ladybug Girl Today at Charlestown Library
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on May 31 in Charlestown.

1. Sunny: Today will be clear and sunny with a high near 93 degrees and a low around 70, according to the National Weather Service. Weekend forecast: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 90s and lows around 65 degrees. There is a chance of rain or thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday night, with heavy rain possible Sunday.
2. Library fun: Drop by the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) today at 10:30 a.m. for Snuggle Club with babies under one year old, or bring the older kids at 11 a.m. for a visit with Lulu the Ladybug Girl.
3. Campaign kick-off: Charlestown resident Jack Kelly will kick off his campaign for at-large Boston city councilor with a fundraiser tonight from 6-9 p.m. at Sullivan’s Restaurant (56 Union St.). Pizza will be served. A donation of $20.13 per person is requested.

4. Weekend activities: Looking for something to do this weekend in Charlestown? Shop the townwide yard sale, attend Charlestown Working Theater’s annual comedy fundraiser or take a tour of haunted Charlestown. Or drop by Charlestown Yoga for a special black light yoga session, “Glow While You Flow,” from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Cost is $16 for the class (wear white or neon); drop-ins will be accepted.
5. BNN-TV workshops: The Boston Neighborhood Network is offering a workshop on Screenwriting for Movies and one on learning how to edit media using Final Cut Pro on Saturdays, June 1-29. Cost for either class is $100 for BNN-TV members and $150 for non-members. Register online at bnntv.org.
