More Fisticuffs in the City

A summer concert turned violent downtown. Plus, a rainy soggy start to the week.

Today is Monday, August 8. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Another summer weekend in the city erupted in violence. To clarify -- it was nowhere near as awful as but apparently there were rolling fights downtown and on the T this past Saturday night after a fight broke out on City Hall plaza. Universal Hub's even posted some videos of what this looked like. Boston, what's going on?

2. On a much lighter note, there's another outdoor movie night scheduled this week. will be screening at 7:30 p.m. at St. Catherine's as part of Charlestown Against Drugs' "Off the Wall" series.

3. Oh yes, and I'm back from vacation -- and very happily married now. If things are a little slow in the next 24 hours, please forgive me. And I've missed anything important in the last 10 days that you think I should know about, feel free to drop me a line.

4. Looks like a rainy, muggy first half of the week. Scattered showers and thunderstorms today (50 percent chance) with a high around 80.

5. Don't let the weather get you down. It's still summer. There is a lovely roundup of Boston's museum offerings on the city's web site. If you've got kids, visitors from out of town or the day off to yourself, check it out
