Neighborhood Council Back in Session Tonight

The Charlestown Neighborhood Council will resume its regular meeting on the first Tuesday of the month tonight.

Today is Tuesday, Sept. 6. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. So you've put away your white pants and madras shorts, but the first day of full isn't actually here 'til Sept. 23. That said, it's going to be rainy and freezing (relatively speaking) for next couple of days. High today of 66, with 90 percent chance of rain.

2. Charlestown's Neighborhood Council will be , after taking a summer hiatus. Tonight there's a meeting of the full council (as there is every first Tuesday of the month) and on Wednesday, there's a . That one will include reps from the film in the neighborhood later this week.

3. Good news for Boston: Car break-ins are down nearly everywhere. Bad news for Charlestown:. What effect will this have on insurance policies, if any? I'm looking into it, but drop me a line if you have any insight.

4. A general note about commenting on the site: More of you have been leaving feedback on articles and talking with each other recently on stories. This is awesome and exactly what Patch is meant for. But I've noticed a few contributors not being very neighborly, and it's disappointing. I just hope those readers can be more mindful of their choice of words -- and, if not -- I hope they'll start using their real names. It only seems fair if you're going to attack someone.

5. Save the date: There's a scheduled on Thursday night at Ameriprise Financial Services at 2 Constitution Plaza. It's open to you, local women in business, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Click for more details.
