Mayor to Recognize Grasshopper Cafe
The mayor will be in town tomorrow to honor cafe owners Lynn and Kevin Smith.

The mayor and other city officials will be in the neighborhood tomorrow to celebrate the opening of Grasshopper Cafe on Bunker Hill Street -- although the restaurant has been operating for months already.
The celebration, however, will recognize owners Lynn and Kevin Smith for bringing a successful business to Charlestown, and in an area that hasn't seen much new development.
The city's Office of Business Development (OBD) provided the Smiths with a $150,000 loan as well as a ReStore grant for $20,000, for a total financial investment from the city of $170,000. The city's investment leveraged an additional $280,000 in private funding, and created more than 10 new jobs in Charlestown, according to a press release from the mayor's office.
