Outdoor Movie Set for Tonight -- If the Weather Holds

Charlestown Against Drugs is screening "A Bug's Life" at St. Catherine's.

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 10. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Charlestown Against Drugs is sponsoring a free outdoor movie tonight. They'll be screening . Bring chairs and snacks. The movie will start at dusk.

2. Let me qualify that -- the movie will be screened if the weather holds out. Forecast calls for isolated thunderstorms today, especially after 6 p.m. It'll be muggy, warm and overcast otherwise. High around 80.

3. Charlestown's got some talented gardeners. That's no secret. But the mayor's office has recently recognized a few of them. Three residents and a community organization (Gardens for Charlestown) placed in this year's citywide gardening contest.
4. is looking for a few volunteers to help with this year's Art in the Park celebration in City Square. It's coming up quick -- Sept. 10. Click if you're interested in lending a hand.

5. The 10th anniversary of September 11th is also upon us very soon. I know many families in Charlestown were affected by 9/11 and the wars that have followed. Patch is looking for people from the community who would like to reflect on how the tragic event has changed their lives. If you'd like more details, send me an email: kristi.ceccarossi@patch.com.
