Paul Revere Will Be Rowing Into the Navy Yard This Weekend
A group of actors will recreate Paul Revere's historic row across Boston Harbor to Charlestown this Sunday.

The Boston National Historical Park will sponsor a dramatic recreation of Paul Revere's historic row across Boston Harbor to Charlestown where he began his famous midnight ride 236 years ago. The event will coincide with the annual Old North Church lantern service festivities on Sunday, April 17.
The activities begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center with a book-signing with Robert Martello, author, historian, Paul Revere scholar and Paul Revere Row Key Note speaker. This will be followed by original dramatic performances provided by costumed actors from Pastimes Entertainment and Fife and Drum Music by Prescott's Battalion Field Music.
A speaking program will follow, centered around the events of April 18, 1775 -- Paul Revere’s legacy and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s famous poem “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere." Key Note Speaker Robert Martello will be discussing his latest book, Midnight Ride, Industrial Dawn: Paul Revere and the Growth of American Enterprise.
The event will also include a reading of Longfellow's famous poem by children in association with the Charlestown Working Theater. There will also be a procession to Pier 1 in the Charlestown Navy Yard near the original landing site. The program will finish with the arrival of a row boat containing costumed rowers and an actor portraying Paul Revere. "Revere" will be greeted by costumed reenactors from the Charlestown Militia Company portraying Charlestown’s patriot leaders.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (617) 242-5601.
