Police Arrest Local Man in Connection to Dunkin Donuts Robberies
Two Dunkin Donuts in Charlestown were robbed yesterday. Later, officers arrested John Ahearn of Charlestown.

John Ahearn, 30, of Charlestown, was arrested Thursday and charged in connection with the robbery of two Dunkin Donuts in the neighborhood this week, according to police.
Around 5 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to a call of a robbery in progress at the Dunkin Donuts on Austin Street. Store employees told officers that the suspect approached the counter, displayed a screwdriver and a note that read, "Give me $100," according to police reports.
When the suspect noticed a Dunkin Donuts employee arm himself with a knife, he fled.

About 15 minutes later, officers got a call about another Dunkin Donuts robbery in progress on Cambridge Street. When police arrived there, employees described a similar suspect and scenario. In this robbery, the suspect jumped the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money.
Later that day polic were able to identify the suspect as Ahearn by showing photos of possible suspects to witnesses. Ahearn was charged with armed robbery.
