Man Caught Breaking Into Police Vehicle

Police arrested a man after he began rummaging through an officer’s unmarked vehicle while they conducted an investigation in the area of Spice and Cambridge streets on Sunday, May 5.

Officers were investigating a case in the area when they observed the man enter one of their vehicles, which were not marked, and “begin to rummage around the interior,” according to reports. Officers approached the man and, after a brief struggle, took him into custody.

Officers also reportedly found pills on his person.

Tree Theft on Park Street

Police were called to a park on Park Street for the report of someone cutting down a tree on Monday, April 29 at around 9 a.m. An anonymous caller told officers that he saw a person cut down a tree then leave in a red truck. The witness was able to jot down a plate number and provided it to police. Detectives are investigating.

Drug Arrest on Austin Street

An individual was arrested for drug possession in the Austin Street area on Monday, April 29. The person was charged with possession of Class D (marijuana) and Class C (pills) drugs with the intent to distribute.

Three Charged in Drug Investigation

One person was arrested and two others will be summonsed to court on drug charges following an investigation in the area of Old Landing Way on Monday, April 29. One individual was charged with possession of a Class B drug with the intent to distribute.

$600 Cosmetics Package Stolen

A Monument Street resident reported that someone had taken a package containing about $600 worth of cosmetics from in front of her apartment door on Friday, May 3. Fed-Ex had reportedly delivered the package and left it by the door.
