Sandy Hook Vigil Planned Tonight in Charlestown

The event will include candle lighting, singing and an opportunity for children to create cards to show their support for the Newtown, CT community.

In light of the tragic events that occurred Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, several people around Charlestown are looking for a way to show their support.

Tonight from 8-8:30 p.m. Oliva Browning owner Abby Gray and local yoga instructor Karen Fabian will hold a candelight vigil that is open to the public.

"We will have candles, some singing, signs for the kids to make and will be collecting any donations that people give—all to support the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting and show support for each other here in our town," Fabian wrote in an email announcing the event.
