Condition of Victim Shot on Medford Street Still Unknown

According to a police report, several parties observed at the shooting scene were involved in a fight earlier Friday night at the football field.

It's still unclear whether the man shot at 138 Medford St. on Friday night has survived, according to police. The identity of the victim has not been released, and officers have made no arrests in connection to the shooting yet.

According to a police report, a Caucasian man in his early 20s was shot around 11:25 p.m. on Friday. When officers arrived on the scene, the victim was already being treated by Boston EMS and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Police observed a large group of people standing on the sidewalk outside 139 Medford St. Earlier in the evening, officers responded to a fight at the football field on Medford Street. Officers noted that that several parties involved in the fight were observed at the shooting scene.

Around 10:30 p.m., police broke up a large group fighting at the high school field. According to a police report, eyewitnesses said the victim (a female) was "jumped by a group of older women."

Police were unable to release any further information.
