Suspects Threaten Employee at Store 24

While police pursued three suspects who shoplifted at Store 24 and threatened an employee, they stumbled on an assault and battery in progress.

These reports were collected from the Boston Police Department and took place within Charlestown's District, A-15. The time and place of the alleged crimes are listed. Persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Tuesday, July 12

A victim at 5 Austin St. reported an attempted break-in to police around 3:21 a.m. The manager of the business at that site showed officers the glass on his shop's front door was broken, but it appeared as though no entry was made. Detectives are following up with surveillance video from the property.

Later in the day, officers responded to a report at 112 High St. of larceny from a motor vehicle (over $200). 

Wednesday, July 13

Steven Colla of Charlestown was arrested on an outstanding warrant around 8 a.m. on Rutherford Avenue. In the evening, police also responded to two reports of larceny from motor vehicles (on Tremont Street and Terminal Street) and a report of assault and battery at 42 Tufts Street. 

Thursday, July 14

Police responded to a report of assault and battery around 6:30 a.m. on Bunker Hill Street.

David Mayer of Somerville was arrested at 6:40 p.m. on Main Street for an outstanding Lawrence Court warrant.

Friday, July 15

Police responded to a report of assault and battery around 1 a.m. at 98 Medford St. At 8 a.m., officers responded to a report of larceny from a motor vehicle on Medford Street.

Saturday, July 16

A victim on Belmont Street told police that someone tried to break into her home around 1 a.m. She heard someone pushing against her front door, locked herself in her bedroom and called police. When officers arrived they did not find any damage to the front door. 

An hour later, in a separate incident, a store security officer at Store 24 on Main Street told police that two men entered the store around 2 a.m. and began shoplifting. A third suspect remained outside. Upon leaving the store, one of the suspects told the employee, "I have a knife and I'm not afraid to use it. I want your money and your laptop." According to a police report, the employee told the suspects to "get the [expletive] out of here." The suspects left, but on their way out one said, "I'll take care of you. Don't worry. This is not over."

All three suspects fled into the direction of Mishuwam. A witness also observed the incident. 

While on their way to Mishuwam to pursue suspects, police witnessed an assault and battery in progress. According to a report, Tammy Robinson of Charlestown was repeatedly punching a male victim outside on Tibbetts Town Way around 2:15 a.m. Police arrested Robinson on a charge of assault and battery. The victim declined treatment, but was visibly shaken from the altercation. The victim said he and the suspect got into an argument while walking home from a night out "enjoying the Charlestown social scene."

Later on the same day, police arrested Justin DiFrummolo of Everett on a charge of trespassing on Main Street. In a separate incident, Andre Nguessan of Everett was arrested on Main Street on a charge of assault and battery. 

Sunday, July 17

Shane Michael Smith of Charlestown was arrested around 12:52 a.m. on Main Street on a charge of trespassing.
