Think You've Got a Fun Commute?
A fellow in Brookline is kayaking to work downtown. Anyone in Charlestown got something better?

Today is Tuesday, Aug. 23. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. Think you have a good commute? The Globe's got a story about this fellow from Brookline who kayaks to work. I'm willing to bet someone in Charlestown is doing something similar to get downtown -- or maybe even better. Jet ski? Sail? Let us know in the comments if your commute is cooler than this guy's.
2. Put this in your calendar for Thursday: a free performance of "T" at . If you haven't seen this show, it's pretty funny. A sort of Cliffs Notes of all of Shakespeare's major plays. The show starts at 6 p.m., brought to you by the Orfeo Group, Charlestown Working Theater and the Friends of the Charlestown Navy Yard.

3. Not good news: There were reports over the weekend of another sexual assault in the city -- this time in the North End. Please, folks, be vigilant. This stuff is unacceptable.
4. I heard that local author Tom MacDonald was at the Barnes in Noble in Hingham for a book signing. His novel "The Charlestown Connection" sold out in 12 minutes. Nice work, Tom! He'll be there for another signing on Sept. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. Or maybe more like 6 to 6:12 p.m.
