Want to Be in a Movie with Mark Wahlberg?
"Ted" producers are looking for extras this Saturday.

Today is Thursday, July 7. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. Wanna be in a movie with Mark Wahlberg? Producers are filming the movie Ted, starring Markie Mark and Mila Kunas at the Hatch Shell on Saturday, July 9. And director Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy) is looking for people to be in it. Read the story here.
2. Speaking of movies set in Boston. Did you know there's a Boston Movie and TV Sites Bus Tour? Apparently it's gotten quite popular in these post-Whitey-capture weeks. Tourists are hungry to see the sites of Boston's real and fictional mobsters, according to a story about this in the Wall Street Journal. Don't be surprised if you see a bus pull into the neighborhood this summer, full of people asking about bank robbers and Ben Affleck. The WSJ story quotes Donald Wilson, the president at Southie's Chamber of Commerce -- and I think it puts it best: "We appreciate [them] coming into town and spending money, absolutely, but enough, okay?"
3. There's something called happening tonight at the . I don't know much, but it sounds like there will be live animals. An African hedgehog or maybe a blue-tongued skink? Sounds fun. The event is free, it starts at 6 p.m. and it's part of the Boston Public Library’s 2011 summer reading program.
4. Head's up: Lanes on the Charlestown Bridge will be closed from July 12 to July 19 while crews attend to some deck repairs. Each evening from 7 p.m. on, the west (inbound) lanes will be shut down and the east side of the bridge will be converted for two-lane (inbound and outbound) passage. All lanes will reopen at 6 a.m.
5. One more bright hot sunny day. High near 86 today.
