Warren Prescott Kids Snag $10k for School's Music Program
A group of students from the Warren Prescott won a national contest with a Glee-like music video mashup performance.

Today is Wednesday, May 11. (Happy birthday, Mom!) Here are five things you need to know today.
1. A big congrats to the kids at the Warren Prescott, whose music (video) stylings won them a $10,000 prize for the school’s music program. A few weeks back we put out a call for folks to log on and vote for their music video, which was a finalist in a Fruitables-sponsored contest. A group of students sang and danced to a musical mashup, which included the most adorable performance of “You Can’t Hurry Love” ever. The school’s music teacher Olivia Thompson says “thanks!” – with the help of your votes, the video won. From Ms. Thompson, “We are so grateful and very excited!” You can a little more about the contest in a story on Boston.com.
2. What are you doing tomorrow night? Hopefully you’re attending the , which runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. This wine and cheese social event is organized with the YMCA and Charlestown Chamber of Commerce – and it’s a second annual. Tickets are $25 at the door, $20 in advance. For more info, contact ejohnson@ymcaboston.org.
3. So… Sullivan Square. It’s becoming a real flashpoint for debate and dialogue, it seems. Rep. Mike Capuano with the Neighborhood Council, where he can air his concerns with the redesign project and field questions from a confused community. (The matter, , was already settled.) And in the meantime, a few residents, including Bill Galvin, a member of the Neighborhood Council, are taking advantage of the slowed process to express their own objections to the city's plan. Word is they’ll be in town today promoting their view on Main Street. Wondering what the heck I’m talking about? on the latest developments. And be sure to come to the meeting: May 18 at 6 p.m., at the Knights.
