What Do You Make of All this Work on Main St?

Today is Friday, July 15. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Main Street is a serious mess, huh? Jack Kelly this week. How is this affecting your shopping? Your parking? We want to know. Look for a Patch reporter on the streets today. He'll be hanging out with a camera, taking your comments on the many construction projects happening concurrently on Main Street.

2. Here's a site worth visiting: My Secret Boston. Get the scoop on a few spots around the city you might want to take your friends when they visit this summer. Or take yourself.

3. There were a handful of events around town last night -- a truly lovely one to be outside. We'll have photos later today from the pool party at Clougherty and the Singing Trooper's visit to the Navy Yard.

4. This weekend is the Sand Castle Festival at Revere Beach. It draws quite a crowd, plus the regular scene at the beach -- which, as a Revere native, I reserve the right to speak of liberally.
