What's On This Weekend: Fundraisers for Local Organizations and More
The Special Townies and the Charlestown Lacrosse center are both hosting major fundraising events this weekend.

Wondering what to do this weekend? There are a couple major fundraisers for seriously wonderful local organizations. And if you want to get out of the neighborhood, we've got a few family-friendly suggestions.
1.
Where/When: Saturday, May 14 at 7 p.m. at the in Charlestown
Why Go: Special Townies provides families of children with disabilities with wonderful and free services, like . Plus, you'll have the chance to win cool stuff and dance to some Motown.

Where/When: Friday, May 13 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the in Charlestown
Why Go: A silent auction, raffle items, and a 50/50 raffle!

3. Where/When: Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Paramount Black Box Theater in Boston
Why Go: The wondrous, other-worldly "sensory gardens" of Farfalle bring together theatre and contemporary art and technology—at the centerpiece of Farfalle is a special sensor-covered CCC (or “Children Cheering Carpet”) which interacts with dancers and the audience in real, enchanted time.

5. ALADDIN AND THE WONDERFUL LAMP
Where/When: Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Wheelock Family Theater in Boston
Why Go: Adventure awaits the downtrodden Aladdin. When he’s tricked by a mysterious magician into stealing an old lamp from a dark and hidden cave, Aladdin discovers a magnificent genie, powerful enough to grant his every wish. 6. AUDITIONS FOR BOSTON CHILDREN'S CHORUS
Where/When: Friday, May 13 at 4:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday May 14 and 15 at 10 a.m. at Boston Children's Chorus Central in Boston's South End
Why Go: Kids ages 7-18 can audition to join this well-respected chorus. Submit a free audition application first.
