Yes, That is a Local Company on TV

Spindrift Soda and the Charlestown resident behind it is featured in a new Webster Bank commercial.

Today is Tuesday, June 28. Here are five things you need to know today.

1. Last fall when this Patch site first went live, one of the first stories I wrote was about and the local guy, Bill Creelman, who dreamed it up. In the months since, I've been seeing Spindrift (a more grownup, heathy alternative to sugary soda) in dozens of locations around the city. And last week I saw Spindrift in this Webster Bank commercial -- another testament to its success and growing popularity. If you haven't had a chance to try it yet, take a walk over to for a bottle.

2. You history buffs already know that a new book on the Battle of Bunker Hill was published this spring, but it was news to me until I saw a review in this Sunday's Globe. The review says that Paul Lockhart's book, "White's of Their Eyes: Bunker Hill, the First American Army and the Emergence of George Washington," makes a strong case for something else history buffs already know: that the most important aspect of the battle on Breed's Hill was the emergence of an independent American army. Curious about the book? Check out this web site.

3. If you didn't get enough photos of Charlestown's hidden gardens in from the Pocket Garden Tour, you can mosey over to Boston.com's Charlestown page for a couple dozen more.

4. School's out for summer. And the National Parks Service is offering some activities to keep you and your kids busy. On Wednesday there's a little . A park ranger will lead kids in an "archaeological dig." The event starts at 2 p.m. It's free and open to the public.

5. Today's weather? Mostly sunny again with a high near 81. Chance of thunderstorms tonight.
