13 Chelmsford Cops Honored For Going Above Call of Duty

Chelmsford Police Chief James Murphy honored the officers at the Chelmsford Police Foundation's Annual Awards Breakfast

 

Chelmsford has dozens of police staff, but just one (baker's) dozen were worthy of honors at the 2013 Chelmsford Police Foundation Annual Awards Breakfast at the Princeton Station this week.

Patrol Officers Daniel Goguen, John Goffin and Sergeant Gary Hannagan... for intuition, sensitivity and investigation in what began as a case involving loud music that turned into a discovery of sexual assualt in April 2012.

Patrol Officer Brian Richard... for promptly apprehending a felony assault suspect in the Varney Park area in July 2012.

Patrol Officers Gary White, Francis Teehan and Robert Murphy... for apprehending an emotionally distrubed and combative individual on Boston Road in November 2012.

Although the suspect attacked the officers with a taser, he was able to be subdued without being injured.

Patrol Officers Anthony Spinazola, Brian Ubele, David MacKenzie, Craig Walsh and Sergeant Edward Quinn... for their assistance with the Woodcrest Fire in January.

In particular, Ubele ignored orders from his father, an officer in the Fire Department, in order to continuing help evacuating individuals from the burning building.

Lieutenant Colin Spence... for overseeing several equipment technology grant projects.
