15 Chelmsford Teens Qualify For Adams Scholarship, Free Tuition

CHELMSFORD, MA — Forty-eight seniors, and more than a dozen from Chelmsford, at Nashoba Valley Technical High School have qualified to receive the John & Abigail Adams Scholarship.

Congratulations to Tyler Allen, Paul Baker, Justin DeBeaucourt, Anthony Ferron, Donald Fraser, Elliot Gale, Shea Kenny, Rhiannon McNulty, Emma Sa, Patrick Saber, Austin Stankiewicz, Max Stillwell, Kaleigh Walsh, Tyler Walsh and Danielle Watman, who were the 15 from Chelmsford to qualify.

The scholarship provides free undergraduate tuition to state colleges and universities to students who score in the Advanced category in either the Mathematics or English Language Arts section of the 10th-grade MCAS test, and in the Proficient or Advanced category in the other section.

In addition, students have to have a combined MCAS score on those two assessments that ranks in the top 25 percent of their school district; be a permanent Massachusetts resident; be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen; enroll in a postsecondary institution full time in the first traditional academic semester after high-school graduation; and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
