The Amber Alert was issued at around 9 p.m. Monday after a Honda Pilot was stolen from Lawrence while a two-year-old was inside.
CHELMSFORD, MA — A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with an Amber Alert and stolen SUV report Monday night, Chelmsford Police confirmed in a news release Tuesday.
The Amber Alert was issued at around 9 p.m. after a Honda Pilot was stolen from Lawrence while a two-year-old was inside, police said. Chelmsford Police found the Honda in Chelmsford at around 9:35 p.m. and attempted to stop it, but it fled onto Interstate 495 South, police said.
With the help of several officials, the Honda was tracked as it exited the interstate onto Route 62 in Berlin, where police said it was forced to stop after running out of fuel.

After initially resisting arrest, a male and female were taken out of the SUV and into custody in Lawrence, where they were charged, with no one being injured. The two-year-old child was taken to the hospital.
"I would like to commend our officers for a job well done," Chief Spinney said, according to the release. "This was a highly stressful event where a two-year-old child was reported to be in great danger. Our Officers maintained composure and brought these two dangerous suspects into custody."
