Aggregate Industries Donates to Address Food Insecurity
Aggregate Industries Makes 3rd Annual Donation to Table of Plenty in Chelmsford and the Chelmsford Food Pantry

For the past three years Aggregate Industries and its employees have quarterbacked a huge effort to raise money to support Chelmsford’s Table of Plenty and The Chelmsford Food Pantry. In addition to hosting a food drive at their Chelmsford plant, the company, which is a local Asphalt, Paving and Crushed stone supplier, made a very generous donation and also reached out to their many business partners and other Chelmsford businesses to involve them. On Tuesday, Vice President and General Manager, Bob Andersson and his team, donated a truck full of groceries to the Chelmsford Food Pantry and then presented Table of Plenty with a check from Aggregate and its partners for $51,950! Bob spoke of how over the past few years more and more families are experiencing food insecurity. He was quick to praise his team and all the businesses that contributed and how all of them were happy to help such an important cause.
Table of Plenty in Chelmsford serves a free weekly meal every Tuesday from 5:00 – 6:00 pm at the Senior Center in North Chelmsford. Mary Moriarty, President of Table of Plenty, said that during the pandemic when they shifted to a Grab N Go meal, the donation from Aggregate Industries and their partners was crucial to funding the 250 meals that were purchased each week from local restaurants and given out to guests. Now that meals are back in person, this donation will help their chefs buy the food and supplies needed to serve approximately 120 guests who come for dinner each week. Bob LaPorte from the Chelmsford Food Pantry said that without this donation, the Food Pantry would be “in a pickle”. Their team of volunteers opens the pantry three days a week and provides food and resources for about 1400 people a month. For more information, please visit https://chelmsfordfoodpantry.org/about/.
