Chelmsford High Grads Lupoli, Chiasson Earn College Football Honors
Salvatore Lupoli Jr. is a linebacker at Div. II Bentley U. and Jake Chiasson is a linebacker at Div. III Western New England U.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Two former Chelmsford High Lions football players recently received major honors at the collegiate level.
Salvatore Lupoli Jr., a junior linebacker at Division II Bentley University, was voted to the All-Northeast 10 First Team after helping the Falcons to a 7-3 record. Bentley, which has completed its season, currently ranks second in Division II in fewest points allowed.
The 5-foot-11, 218-pound Lupoli led the NE10 in tackles, with 101, and his average of 10.1 tackles per game ranks 13th in Division II.

Lupoli, who graduated from CHS in 2018 and did a post-graduate year at Phillips Academy, was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions this fall. He reached double-figures in tackles in five games, had seven tackles for loss, three sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery.
At CHS, Lupoli was a two-year captain and was voted the team's Most Valuable Player.

Jake Chiasson, a sophomore linebacker at Division III Western New England University, was named to the 2022 All-Noontime Sports New England D3 Football Team on Friday. The former CHS standout was named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team earlier in the week.

The 5-11, 205-pound Chiasson had a team-high 94 tackles — 32 solo and 62 assisted — for the Golden Bears, who finished 4-6.
Chiasson was fourth in the CCC in total tackles and also had .05 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup.
A 2020 CHS graduate, Chiasson was a two-time MVP for the Lions and a two-time All-Merrimack Valley Conference First Team selection.
