Chelmsford High Will Face Shrewsbury in First Round of 'High School Quiz Show'

CHELMSFORD, MA - Chelmsford High School learned in December that a team of five students had earned a place on the seventh season of WgBH’s “High School Quiz Show.”

This week, the Chelmsford team learned that its first opponent in the seeded 16-team competition will be Shrewsbury High School.

The Chelmsford vs. Shrewsbury episode will air on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. on WGBH 2.

“High School Quiz Show” is a single-elimination competition in which 16 teams from across Massachusetts compete in the televised academic tournament hosted by Billy Costa. Those teams, including Chelmsford, were selected from a pool of 131 schools who participated in a qualifying event in November.

If Chelmsford triumphs over Shrewsbury, the team will next compete against either Norton High School or Newton North High School in the quarterfinal round of the tournament, which is scheduled to broadcast on April 27.
