Chelmsford Police Search For Bank Robbery Suspect

Police say an unarmed man demanded money from a teller before taking off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed a bank late Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:10 p.m., officers responded to the Eastern Bank at 291 Chelmsford St., for a reported unarmed robbery, Chief James M. Spinney said.

Bank staff members told police the man verbally demanded cash from a teller, taking an undisclosed amount of money before running off near Glen Avenue towards Katrina Drive.

No one was injured during the incident, Spinney confirmed in a press release.

This bank robbery is the third such instance that has taken place in Greater Lowell in less than two weeks, the Lowell Sun reported.
