Chelmsford Puts Old Town Vehicles Up For Auction

If you ever wanted an old street sweeper, this is your chance.

No one has bid for the old street sweeper. Perhaps it's because the starting bid is $20,000.

CHELMSFORD, MA — The Town is auctioning off town vehicles, one car and several DPW trucks it doesn't need. It's auctioning off two rack body trucks, a pickup and a sweeper online at Municibid.com. The deadline to make a bid for those four vehicles is Nov. 12. A pickup truck and a car will be available for bids for another 10 days after that.

A 2012 Ford Taurus used by the police department with more than 151,000 miles on it so far only has one $1,501 bid. A 2000 Ford F450 has 10 bidders and is at $3,899.00.

Each item is being sold as is and you have to pay with a Cashier's Check, Treasurer's Check, Certified Check or U.S. Postal Money Order payable to the Town of Chelmsford at time of pickup. The town is not accepting personal or business funds. The winning bidder is responsible for title transfer costs and transportation costs for pickup of each item.
