Chelmsford Resident Has Good Weekend at the Tracks

Thanks to a strong weekend, one local driver is climbing up the International Supermodified Association car racing standings.

According to a story in the Lowell Sun, Chelmsford resident Joe McKennedy snagged two second-place finishes during races in Quebec, Canada, to continue a strong season on the track.

The newspaper reported that McKennedy opened the weekend in ninth place in the points standings but was helped by Saturday's runner up finish as he hopes to eventually jolt himself to an ISMA championship.

According to the ISMA website, McKennedy currently has 221 points, which is good for sixth place out of 30 drivers. McKennedy is 94 points behind leader Chris Perley.
