Chelmsford Stop & Shop To Host One-Day Company Career Fair Saturday

CHELMSFORD, MA —The Chelmsford location of Stop & Shop will be hosting a one-day career fair on Saturday for permanent, part-time positions and unionized in-store jobs within the company, Stop & Shop announced Monday.

The career fair will take place between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Chelmsford store, located at 299 Chelmsford St.

Chelmsford is one of over 100 Stop & Shops in Massachusetts participating in the event, which the parent company said is designed to fill 750 open positions.

According to company representatives, the career fair will include on-the-spot interviews for permanent, part-time e-commerce positions and in-store union positions in the bakery, deli, grocery, seafood, and produce departments.

The Stop & Shop corporate office said the starting rates for the in-store union positions are $15 an hour and $15.30 an hour after 30 days.

The company said there also are unionized openings on the overnight crew, as well as for cashiers, porters, baggers, home shoppers, and drivers.

The open, part-time positions provide up to 28 hours of work each week and part-time employees receive competitive pay, paid training, flexible schedules, a company discount, paid time off and career advancement opportunities, according to the Stop & Shop corporate office.

The roles we offer at Stop & Shop are more than jobs, they are growth opportunities," said Cara Sangermano, human resource business partner for Stop & Shop. According to Stop & Shop, home delivery drivers must be at least 21 years old. Night crew, deli, meat, and seafood associates must be at least 18 years old, and all other positions require applicants to be 16 years old or older.
