Chelmsford High School students are participating in a nationwide protest against gun violence this week.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford High School students organized a walkout this week as part of a nationwide protest against gun violence. The walkout is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. Students at thousands of schools across the country, including more than 100 in Massachusetts, pledged to participate.

"We are not safe at school," Westford students wrote in a statement. "We are not safe in our cities and towns. Congress must take meaningful action to keep us safe and pass federal gun reform legislation that address the public health crisis of gun violence. We want Congress to pay attention and take note."
