Chelmsford Thanksgiving 2022: Store Hours, Trash Pickup, Weather

CHELMSFORD, MA — Need last-minute Thanksgiving supplies? Area residents have a few options this week, though, options are limited.

Here’s the latest on what’s open, what’s closed, waste collection delays, and the holiday forecast.
Many major nationwide retailers have scaled back or cut Thanksgiving hours entirely after previously offering some shopping on Thanksgiving itself ahead of Black Friday.

In Massachusetts, big box stores are banned from opening on Thanksgiving.
The state has banned all alcohol sales and heavily restricted who can work on Thanksgiving in grocery stores.

Grocery Stores

While most grocery stores are closed in light of state regulations, the H-Mart chain has announced that its Massachusetts stores will be open Thursday beginning at 8 a.m.
Massachusetts has H-Mart locations in Quincy, Cambridge and Burlington.
Pharmacies

CVS — Many CVS Pharmacy locations, including 24-hour locations, will be open regular hours. Some pharmacies may have reduced hours or be closed for the holiday.

Walgreens — Some stores and 24-hour pharmacies will be open during regular business hours. Select pharmacies will be open with modified hours. Customers are encouraged to check their local store hours before heading out.

Waste Collection

There is no collection on Thanksgiving and the rest of the week runs on a one-day delay. No
bulk items are collected on holiday weeks.
