Chelmsford's annual tree lighting ceremony is Sunday, December 3, 2017.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford's annual tree lighting ceremony is almost here. The annual celebration and holiday prelude event is Sunday, December 3. The event, a town staple for more than 20 years, is traditionally held the first Sunday in December.

"Start off the holiday season with the warmth of friendship, community and fun," organizers said. "Please join us and help spread the Holiday Spirit!"

The event is at the town common from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The tree lighting is at 5 p.m.

Santa will be there; other attractions include hayrides, live music, hot chocolate, cookies, popcorn and more.

Admission is free and donations are accepted.
