Elderly Woman's Body Found in Parking Lot
The woman's body was found on a parking lot island on Sheila Avenue. Police say this is not a criminal matter.

CHELMSFORD, MA - The body of an elderly woman was found in a parking lot in Chelmsford Monday morning.
Police Chief James Spinney, in a statement issued Monday night, said at approximately 7:45 a.m., Chelmsford Police responded to Sheila Avenue, where they found the body of Portia Laganas on a parking lot island.
The Chelmsford Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police and Trinity EMS also responded and pronounced Laganas dead at the scene.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office was notified and at this time the incident is no longer considered a criminal matter.
Officials say no additional information will be released.
