Garden Will Bloom Where Fire Station Once Stood
The location of the old fire station at 7 North Road will have new life next spring.

The Chelmsford Board of Selectmen Monday night unanimously approved a recommendation to create a community garden at 7 North Road, where the town’s old fire station once stood.
According to the Lowell Sun, the recommendation from the 7 North Road Committee describes planting trees, shrubs and ornamental grasses to create a welcoming space that will also feature picnic tables and locations for sculptures and other artwork.
The former fire station was demolished in April 2015 and work to determine what will be done with the .27 acre property has been ongoing. The 7 North Road Committee requested public input and heard a few proposals before putting the options to public, online vote, according to the committee’s meeting minutes.
