How to Dispose of Leaves This Fall in Chelmsford

But once you’ve finished playing in those lovely leaf piles, how do you actually get them out of your yard?

The Town of Chelmsford doesn’t offer curbside leaf pickup, but there are a number of options in the area.

For leaves:

Jones Farm in Chelmsford (246 Acton Road) , Route 27) offers a variety of fee-based leaf-disposal options:

  • Bagged leaf and grass clipping drop-off -- Purchase Jones Farm bags for $3 each. Fill the bags with leaves and/or grass clippings and then drop them off at Jones Farm. Only Jones Farms bags will be accepted. Drop-off begins at 8 a.m. daily.
  • Loose leaf drop-off -- If you have a pickup truck, you can fill the bed and drop off the leaves at Jones Farm for a fee. A small pickup is $16 per load; a large truck is $24. Customers should pay at the farm store first and retain their receipt when they head to the unloading area. The basic disposal fee is $8 per yard (3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet).
  • Lead pickup -- Purchase Jones Farm bags for $3 each, fill them at your home and call Jones Farm when you’re ready to have them picked up. The pickup fee is $50 (check or cash). You can use generic paper bags, but you must arrange to pay the generic bag fee by calling Jones Farm in advance.

Additionally, BMC, Corp. in Tewksbury and Landscape Express in Woburn offer yard waste disposal options for a fee.
