Kindergarten and First Grade Registration Happening Soon

If your child isn't currently enrolled in Chelmsford Public Schools, take a look at the dates and info below.

Chelmsford Public Schools will hold registration for all children entering kindergarten and all first-graders not currently enrolled in Chelmsford schools beginning on Jan. 19, 2016.

Specifically, parents are encouraged to enroll their students on the following dates and times:

  • Jan. 19 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Jan. 20 from 3-7 p.m.
  • Jan. 21 from 3-7 p.m.

All registration activities will take place at the Chelmsford Public Schools Administration Office (230 North Road)

Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2016. Students entering first grade must be 6 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2016.

Here’s what parents will need to bring to registration. Note that all the documentation is required at the time of registration:

  • A driver’s license or passport
  • Written proof of residency (for example, a mortgage statement or purchase and sale agreement; a signed lease agreement; or a notarized affidavit supporting residence document with the homeowner’s real estate tax bill)
  • A utility bill that includes your name and address
  • A copy of the child’s birth certificate and a physical examination within one year of entrance to school or within 30 days after school entry
  • Certificate of lead poisoning and updated immunizations covering the following: diphtheria (5 doses), pertussis (5 doses), tetanus (5 doses; Td booster grade 7), mumps-rubella-measles (2 doses), polio (4 doses), varicella (2 doses, OR, Dr. documentation of chicken pox) and hepatitis B (3 doses). A copy of current immunization record is required for registration. If additional immunizations are needed prior to the beginning of school, a copy of the complete immunization record which meets state requirements must be provided prior to school entrance.
