Man Dies In Chelmsford Crash: Police

CHELMSFORD, MA — A New Hampshire man died in connection with an overnight crash in Chelmsford, according to police.

The victim was identified by Massachusetts State Police as Darren Chinn, 59, of Derry.

The incident occurred about 11:45 p.m. Saturday when a 2018 Toyota C-HR and a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that were both traveling north on Route 495 North made contact and veered off the road to the east, police said.

The Trailblazer, driven by Chinn, rolled into the nearby woods and struck a tree, according to police, who said Chinn was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The C-HR slid onto the shoulder of the road and came to rest against a sign, police said, adding the driver was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.
