NBA's Terance Mann, From Lowell, To Hold Local Hoops Camp Next Week
The camp for kids ages 8-19 will be held Monday to Thursday in Westford. Registration closes at noon this Friday.

WESTFORD, MA —Parents and guardians have until noon Friday to sign up their kids for next week's Terance Mann Complete Player Basketball camp, featuring the Lowell native and current Los Angeles Clippers swingman.
The camp, in its second year, will take place from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday through Thursday at The Mill Works in Westford, located at 22 Town Farm Road. The camp is open to kids and teenagers ages 8 to 19 and costs $250. Registration is available online.
The 25-year-old Mann, who attended the Tilton School in New Hampshire and played collegiately at Florida State, spoke last year about returning to his roots for the camp.

"This camp means a lot to us, just being able to give back to the community, being able to see these kids being around, working hard, meeting new friends. having fun, things I used to do when I was younger at camps, playing basketball all day and getting better," Mann said.
Mann is running the camp with Julian Taylor, the executive basketball director at Synergy Basketball, a year-round player development program based in Haverhill. Taylor was Mann's first player development coach when Mann was in middle school.

Taylor told Patch what campers can expect to get from Mann during the camp.
"He's very hands-on and he sees it as a great opportunity to give back in a sense that he's teaching kids what it takes to be a student-athlete and how to compete at a high level on a consistent basis," Taylor said. "(Mann) gives them the tools, fundamentals and experiences that he had as a player at a young age, which got him to where he is now."
The 6-foot-5 Mann, who is entering his fourth NBA season, had a breakout performance during the 2021 NBA Playoffs when he helped lead the Clippers to the Western Conference Finals despite the absence of injured star Kawhi Leonard.
"(Mann) has been preparing for those types of moments since he was 10 years old," Taylor said. "That's what the country got to see (in 2021) when he stepped up to the challenge and showed that commitment and work ethic.
"Now, he's showing the next generation how important it is to maximize your chances, anytime you get an opportunity on and off the court."
A second-round pick in 2019 (No. 48 overall), Mann averaged a career-high in minutes played (28.6), points (10.8), rebounds (5.2) and assists (2.6) this past season.
