UPDATE: Just Under Half of Chelmsford Runners Confirmed To Be Safe

Chelmsford had 22 participants in this year's Boston Marathon, two crossed the finish line near the time of the blast.

UPDATE 5:07 p.m. - Family members of Cathy Pearce indicate that they were at the Fairmont Copley hotel when the blast occurred and are safe.

UPDATE 1:24 p.m. - Wayne Gerhardt has e-mailed in and said that he and his family are okay. He was approximately half a mile away when the explosion occurred.

UPDATE 10:03 a.m. - We've been told members of the Greater Lowell Road Runners, including Chelmsford's Paul Hadley, Michael Murphy and James Sullivan, Luciana Calvin, and Amy Molloy, are okay.

Yesterday, we were able to confirm that three runners from Chelmsford are okay: Barry Scanlon, Deb Dorsey and Francine Inman.

And although she's from Dracut, former Chelmsford Patch editor Krista Perry was also safe and several miles from the blast when it occurred at approximately the 4:09:45 mark.
