
The Patrick Administration announced this week that two Chelmsford companies were part of a $5.7 million grant from the Workforce Training Fund General Grant Program.
Brooks Automation and Kronos have been awarded just under a combined $500,000 for the training for a combined 747 employees and as well as the creation of 40 new jobs.
The grants, which last for up to two years, serve as a resource for businesses looking to increase the skill set of their current employees as well as hiring new skilled workers, with money being given to 72 companies across the Commonwealth.

“The Workforce Training Fund offers employees the ability to learn new skills and expertise that allows their employers to compete more effectively in their respective industries,” said Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) Secretary Joanne F. Goldstein. “It’s a proven resource and we look forward to working with the business community to further implement training initiatives and partner with them to maintain a highly skilled workforce in all regions and all economic sectors of the Commonwealth.”
